We are in a 40' motor home with an internet satellite rooftop system. The 3 mile access road is essentially a narrow, tree-lined one-way road with many potholes. The park is poorly laid out with all sites in trees, thus not usable by us. We ended up dry-camping one night in their ghost town parking lot. People camping here that we talked to said power is low voltage and irregular. Water pressure low. There is a dump station which is difficult for a big rig to access. Sorry but this is not a big-rig friendly place and we will not return!!
The rate we paid was for 13 days including electric which they charge extra for if you are on their weekly rate. Excellent relatively new RV park - wide, level sites, no trees. Very good manager. Only negatives for us were washing rig/toad not allowed; noise (24-hrs-a-day trucks/traffic on nearby I-40); and smell of septic field at the rear of park. RV park is located on top of mesa and is very exposed. If it's windy - it's really windy!!
If it weren't for the 7 mile VERY dusty road in and out, this would be rated an 8. Once there we enjoyed the 4-wheeling in our Jeep and the birds, other wildlife and Indian/Army history. If you like remoteness, dust (and not being allowed to wash rig or toad), limited cell service, then this is a great spot!!
Rate we paid does not include electricity. Very good park run by owner/manager, who is most attentive and available. He has just opened new big-rig site area with 50 amp and water - but no sewer. Washing rig/toad permitted - water extremely hard. There is an older section with much smaller sites, trees, full-hookups and a pond where rates may be different (higher?).
Great park - quiet, close to things to see/do. Has fantastic walking trails adjacent to park. Fabulous sunsets!! Sites are narrow and it's a bit tricky getting in and out of park with a 40' motor home and toad. Waterpark closed permanently but is haven for owls and other birds.
This ia a "member only" RV park (AOR), and is our "home park". Big sites, small trees which facilitate hanging bird feeders. WiFi and washing rig/toad cost extra. Well-run, clean park. New, very large expansion is in process of completion.
